Deb Halberstadt
Owner / Producer / Videographer / Photographer



Deb Halberstadt is a producer/photographer/videographer with long and strong  experience in newspapers, wire services, magazines, television networks, public relations, and corporation communications.

In 1989, Deb organized, and has since run, HalfCity Productions , a traditional and digital, video, still  photography, and multi-media company.  She has working knowledge of all aspects of field and studio production and post-production.  HalfCity Productions owns and operates its own portrait and video inserts stage complete with gardens that serve as a lovely outdoor location.

She served as NBC Manager Media Services-Photography for Corporate Communications (formerly known as Media or Public Relations) where she managed a staff of 14 and a yearly million dollar budget.  Her shooting experience includes portraiture, episodic television, sports, news, public and private publicity, promotion and advertising.  In addition to photography, she designed, and managed the production of many graphic external and internal marketing pamphlets, kit covers, posters, and other collateral materials for the network.  Prior to NBC, Deb worked for Associated Press in Los Angeles and Chicago.

Deb has a B. A. in liberal arts from Lawrence University, Appleton, Wisconsin. HalfCity Productions is an active member of the Radio Television News Association (RTNA) ,  National Association of Woman Business Owners (NAWBO), Women¹s Transportation Coalition (WTC) , Women in Design ( WID) , Business Alliance of Los Angeles (BALA), Women of Pasadena, and a small business partner of University of Southern California¹s Integrated Media Systems Center (USC-IMSC ).

Recently. the documentary, Voices from the Lake, was theatrically released.  Ms. Halberstadt and her production assistant, traveled 2,600 miles by car in central Turkey making b-roll to
illustrate one of the terrifying stories of the Armenian genocide in 1916. Also,
HalfCity Productions traveled to  five major North American western cities (San Diego to Vancouver, British Columbia)  to make a documentary about light rail systems. HalfCity Productions won several awards with Angel Films for a South African documentary, "The Man Who Would Kill Kitchener."

Ms. Halberstadt has been a judge for NATPE¹s IRIS awards, monitored the RTNA¹s Golden Mike awards, and mentored high school women for An Income of Her Own program. She is a guest lecturer at UCLA for public relations courses.
